Maruti Suzuki record sales for fiscal 2014-15 at 1.29 million units

Maruti Suzuki is back with
another sales record as it sells 1,292,415 units for the fiscal 2014-15. The
market leader said in a press statement that this is the highest annual sale
ever by the company and obviously it also means it is the highest by any Indian
company! The previous high was in 2010-11 when the company sold 1,271,005 units.
With this sales, the company has registered a 11.9pc increase in sales over
2013-14.
For the year ended March 31,
2015, the company sold 1,170,702 units in the domestic market while it exported
1,21,713 units. While exports jumped 20.1pc, domestic sales increased by 11.1
pc. Category wise, the compact passenger
car segment contributed the most to this sales as it sold 4,95,999 units in
2014-15 compared to 4,40,381 units. The
compact segment consisting of the Swift, Ritz, Celerio and the Dzire recorded a
12.6pc growth
The next biggest contributor
to total sales was the Mini segment which recorded sales of 4,25,742 units as
compared to 4,36,032 units in 2013-14. This
segment comprising the Alto and Wagon R saw a degrowth of 2.4pc.
As for the month of March
2015, the company sold 1,11,555 unit as compared to 1,13,350 units, recoding a
negative growth of 1.6pc. The month saw sales of 40,159 units (40,085 units) in
the Mini segment (+0.2pc) and sales of 38,710 units (44,251 units) for the Compact
segment cars. This segment saw a fall of 12.5pc in sales.
